A former Prime Minister of Somalia says that the country tops the list of the most corrupt nations in the world.
Ex-Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire said this while addressing Somalis in Minnesota, United States.
Khaire’s fiery speech also touched on several matters pertaining to the nation he once served as its 19th Prime Minister.
He said that Al-Shabaab continues to control a significant portion of Somalia.
The former Prime Minister added that poverty levels in the country remain high despite the presence of African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and other organizations.
Khaire called on authorities to do more to reduce maternal mortality, which remains high.
