Former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire expressed his support for the operation carried out by Puntland forces against the ISIS militant group in the Bari region mountains.
In his statement, Khaire commended the efforts and bravery of the security forces involved, emphasizing the critical role of counterterrorism efforts in securing Somalia’s stability and advancing state-building.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, he noted that terror groups pose a significant threat to the nation’s governance and development, underscoring them as “the greatest threat to Somalia’s statehood.”
