A former President of HirShabelle State has officially assumed his role at the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Secretariat.
Mohamed Abdi Barre was appointed IGAD’s Deputy Executive Director.
His appointment took place over the weekend during the 41st Extraordinary Session of the IGAD Heads of State and Government Summit in Djibouti.
Barre officially took over on Monday, December 11.
