Ex-President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed arrived in Garowe on Friday evening ahead of “political consultations” with Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni.
He will also be joining the immediate former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, who arrived in Garowe a day earlier.
Sharif confirmed that he landed in the city for important meetings and consultations.
Analysts believe that the pair are in the region for consultations on the plans by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to amend the constitution.
