A former Prime Minister of Somalia has welcomed the creation of the newest regional state in the country.
Omar Sharmarke, who served as his country’s 13th and 18th Prime Minister, threw his weight behind the decision to transform SSC-Khaatumo into a regional state.
He called the decision by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) commendable.
Ex-Prime Minister Sharmarke called upon the federal government and the international community to work closely toward the recovery, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of the new state.
Sharmarke wished SSC-Khaatumo the best in its future endeavors.
