A former Somaliland minister has gone on hunger strike in prison to protest his current predicament.
Shuaib Mohamed Muse has not eaten anything for the last three days.
His brother, Ahmed Muse, confirmed this to the public on April 3.
Shuaib, a former Minister of Industry, was arrested on March 25.
Authorities have charged with forging his high school certificates.
He is scheduled to vie on the Justice and Welfare Party ticket in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Shuaib is expected in court on Saturday.
Meanwhile, his brother says Shuaib’s predicament is the result of the machinations of the current Minister of Telecommunication and Abdillahi Balaki, a local lawmaker.
