An explosion was heard at an African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) military base in Middle Shabelle.
Several sources confirmed hearing the deafening explosion.
Furthermore, fire also engulfed the military base that hosts officers from AMISOM.
Sources intimidated to the media that an electrical fault could have been responsible for not only the explosion but also the ensuing fire.
The military base, which is at Haansheekh, acts as a weapons depot.
It lies on the outskirts of Bal’ad town.
