Family and Human Rights Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Empowerment of Somali Women

The Minister of Family and Human Rights officially inaugurated a three-day comprehensive workshop on African Women Leadership (Somalia chapter) on Monday.

The minister, Lt. Gen. Bashir Mohamed Jama, expressed his delight at the fact that Somalia will host such a crucial workshop.

This event is a significant step toward advancing women’s empowerment and leadership in Somalia.

The meeting is the result of  collaboration between the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Federal Member States (FMS), and the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA).

Active participation from senior officials of the United Nations Women Somalia and the African Union, shows a strong commitment to promoting the vital role of women in state-building and development.

Workshops like these are crucial for achieving milestones in gender equality and providing women with the tools and support needed to take on leadership roles in various sectors.
