FAO Appeals for $138 Million to Assist Drought-Stricken Somalis, Kenyans, and Ethiopians

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has sent out an appeal for US$138 million to assist drought-stricken individuals and households in the Horn of Africa region.

According to FAO, the bulk of the funds would go towards assisting Somalis, Kenyans, and Ethiopians.

Without the financial assistance, FAO indicated that a hunger crisis could hit the region hard.

As per FAO’s appeal, which went out on January 17, the funds would prove helpful to over 1.5 million people struggling with drought in the three nations.
