The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will work closely with the European Union to help Somali farmers.
FAO and the EU are to work closely to rehabilitate irrigation canals.
That way, they would provide the farmers with access to water for irrigation and other farming activities.
On Sunday, FAO announced that the rehabilitation has already kicked off in several places.
It added that the project is critical for a country that has witnessed drying of crops and weakening of animals.
Lack of water has become a massive threat to lives and livelihoods in the East African nation too.
