FAO Launches Livestock Scholarships for Somalis with the EU

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has launched livestock scholarship programs with the European Union (EU) for Somali students.

More than 100 young Somalis have received scholarships from FAO and the EU to study livestock courses at the Somali National University (SNU) in Mogadishu.

The scholarships are part of a project known as the Resilient Fisheries and Livestock Value Chain for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Somalia (RAAISE) project.

The FAO and EU scholarships will allow the students to undertake their studies at SNU for three years. It covers the students’ tuition fees and all graduation projects too.

As per FAO and the EU, the last batch of sponsored students is set to graduate from SNU in January 2025.
