The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will work closely with Somalia to manage the fisheries sector in the country.
This was announced on Tuesday when Etienne Peterschmitt held discussions on this matter with the newly appointed Director General in the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy.
The meeting between Peterschmitt, who is the FAO Representative and Country Director for Somalia, were at the the organization’s office in Mogadishu.
Peterschmitt described the meeting and subsequent discussions as productive.
He expressed hope of exciting opportunities ahead for not only collaboration but also for advancing fisheries management in Somalia.
