The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has welcomed a contribution of $2 million by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
SIDA contributed the funds towards the Building Resilience in Middle Shabelle (BRiMS) Project.
According to FAO, the funds would play a significant role in increasing the resilience of the livelihoods of the most vulnerable individuals in the region.
The financial contribution comes at an important time considering the ongoing drought in Somalia.
Droughts, locust infestation, flash, and riverine floods are some of the recent crises Somalia has grappled with.
