The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has announced plans to produce Somalia’s food security policy jointly with the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.
Various stakeholders have been invited to offer their input to the production of the National Food Security and Nutrition Policy.
Discussions regarding the policy are set to kick off from August 21.
FAO, the agriculture ministry, and EU Delegation in Somalia have invited various stakeholders to the discussion on the food policy.
Somalia has experienced floods, COVID-19 pandemic, and locust infestation this year, which have created a humanitarian crises in the country.
Moreover, the crises threaten Somalia’s food security.
