Yasin Mohamoud Hiir Faraton has received widespread congratulations on his election as the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Somaliland.
Suleiman Yusuf Ali Koore was the latest to extend warm wishes to Speaker Faraton.
Koore is the Minister of Culture, Information and Awareness.
Members of Parliament (MPs) in the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to elect Faraton as the new Speaker on Sunday.
Koore labeled Speaker Faraton a “great asset” to the people and government of Somaliland.
He added that Speaker Faraton had distinguished himself as a public servant for several years thus deserving of the latest appointment.
Further, Koore commended Mohamed Khadar Dahir for accepting defeat in the race for the Speaker’s position.
