President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo held a meeting with the United Kingdom Secretary of State in Mogadishu.
On January 27, President Farmaajo welcomed Ben Wallace, the UK Secretary of State, and Ben Fender, the UK Ambassador to Somalia, to his office in the capital city.
Hassan Hussein Haji, the Minister of Defense in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), also joined Farmaajo in the meeting with the British officials.
Farmaajo and his guests discussed ways of strengthening bilateral ties between their nations.
Specifically, they agreed that to increase cooperation in the area of security.
The Somali President urged British government to continue supporting Somalia’s fight against terrorism.
He assured Wallace and Ambassador Fender that his administration remains committed to strengthening security all over Somalia.
On his part, Wallace commended Farmaajo’s administration and the people of Somalia for the progress made in rebuilding their military and success in the ongoing war against terrorism.
