President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has appointed Colonel Yasin Abdullahi Mohamud Farey as the new Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Farmaajo appointed Col. Farey in an acting capacity.
A notice from the Office of the President indicated that he had accepted the resignation of Fahad Yasin as the NISA Director.
Earlier, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble had sacked Yasin, an act that Farmaajo later called “unconstitutional.”
This move is likely to create further animosity between Farmaajo and Roble.
That’s because in sacking Yasin, the Prime Minister had already appointed a new NISA Director, Maj. Gen. Bashir Mohamed Jama.
