President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has appointed a committee of 25 people to oversee the upcoming elections in the country.
Abdinur Mohamed, Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, is among the 25 members appointed into the commission.
Farmaajo unveiled the members of this team on Thursday, November 5.
A communiqué from the Office of the President shows that Farmaajo appointed 25 members into the electoral commission and a further 25 into the disputes resolution commission.
The commission has a clear mandate; coordinating and supervising the election of Members of Parliament to join the House of Representatives.
Somalia’s Lower House has 275 MPs.
