Former Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has openly criticized the current government leaders following the collapse of the National Consultative Council (NCC) talks.
Farmaajo urged a return to the constitutional process, emphasizing that Somalia’s political disputes should be resolved through the country’s legal frameworks.
He expressed concerns about the government’s failure to uphold constitutional responsibilities, especially regarding electoral reforms and governance.
Farmaajo also opposes the term extensions for current leaders, suggesting that these moves violate the principles of fairness and governance outlined in Somalia’s constitution.
His calls for a return to constitutional procedures aim to ensure political stability and proper leadership transitions, a stance that positions him in opposition to many government officials and other political leaders who have advocated for different approaches.
