President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has called for dialogue to solve the ongoing electoral crisis in Somalia.
Farmaajo issued the call on January 30 following an all-day closed-door meeting at Villa Somalia with foreign diplomats.
After the Saturday meeting, President Farmaajo called for an urgent meeting between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS).
Farmaajo reportedly assured the representatives of the country’s international partners that he remains committed to ensuring that Somalia holds elections on schedule.
To this end, Farmaajo assured them that his administration would organize a meeting between FGS, FMS, and opposition parties to find solutions for the elections crisis.
