President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo called for a meeting between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) from February 18-19.
Farmaajo called for the meeting after receiving the report from the 14-member technical committee recently appointed to create a roadmap for resuming elections talks.
According to a statement released by Villa Somalia on February 17, the meeting is scheduled to take place in Mogadishu.
The latest announcement comes after Farmaajo’s initial announcement of a meeting that was to kick off on February 15 in Garowe failed to materialize.
As per the statement, participants at the Leadership Consultative Summit would be drawn from FGS, FMS, and the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA).
On Wednesday, the technical committee met in Baidoa.
Thereafter, it released a statement saying that its members identified what it called the “technical solutions” that lay the ground for a signing of an electoral agreement.
