President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia has congratulated Akinwumi A. Adesina on his reelection as the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Akinwumi was reelected unanimously during the elections conducted on Thursday August 26, 2020 for another five-year term. Seventy-eight members of AfDB’s Board of Governors reelected him.
While congratulating him, Farmaajo mentioned the economic recovery that Adesina’s tenure as the President of AfDB for the past five years has delivered. He also cited the economic recovery that Somalia has embarked upon with help from Adesina.
President Farmaajo offered his “heartiest congratulations” to Adesina for the vote of confidence that the Board of Governors – had passed on his leadership. He finished by saying Africa looks forward to transcend greater heights under Adesina’s leadership.
