President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) hailed the Inter-States Football Tournament for promoting unity among youths.
The football tournament was held in Mogadishu towards the end of December 2021.
It featured teams from all the five Federal Member States (FMS); that is, Galmudug, HirShabelle, Southwest, Puntland, Jubbaland and Benadir Region.
He invited the champions to Villa Somalia for a bit of celebration.
Farmaajo also recognized the incredible achievement of all the teams that took part in the tournament.
The President expressed gratitude to organizers for holding a tournament that boosts integration among young Somalis.
He expressed hope that Somalia could now regain its past glory as a footballing powerhouse at the regional and continental level.
