Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo held a meeting with Muhammed Younis Al-Manfi in Istanbul.
Farmaajo’s meeting with Al-Manfi took place on December 20.
They met just after the end of the Turkey-Africa Summit, which took place over two days in Istanbul.
Farmaajo and Al-Manfi discussed several issues.
Top of their list of discussions was the importance of improving relations between Somalia and Libya.
Secondly, Farmaajo also sought more details from Al-Manfi on the fate of Somali immigrants in Libya.
Reports from Libya indicate that many Somali immigrants face the risk of incarceration in the North African nation.
Human traffickers have also detained many of them.
Additionally, armed gangs have kidnapped many of these immigrants from whom they then demand payment of ransom.
