President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has promised to consult the Federal Parliament after attending the next round of the Dhusamareb talks.
Farmaajo made this vow on Saturday morning while addressing legislators in parliament.
He promised that any deal reached between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Federal Member States will be brought before the Members of Parliament for ratification.
Furthermore, he urged the country to be ready to accept whatever decision MPs arrive at after deliberations.
Farmaajo’s commitment to the Dhusamareb talks is good news to those who doubted that he would attend the next round.
However, his vow to present any agreement reached in Dhusamareb to parliament is likely to raise a few eyebrows.
Essentially, that is because Farmaajo may be indicating that he would not be tied to any deliberations arrived at in Galmudug’s administrative capital.
