President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo received the team that represented Somalia during the recent maritime case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi M. Gulaid, was among the members of the team that paid Farmaajo a courtesy call.
Farmaajo hailed the contribution of members of the legal team in convincing the ICJ judges to rule in favor of Somalia.
He commended them for setting a precedent for future generations.
The President added that Somalia’s success in the maritime case against Kenya proves that Somalis are more patriotic and united than before.
Mahad Abdalla Awad, Omar Filish, and Dr. Abdirahman Beileh attended the meeting.
Awad is the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People. Filish is the Mayor of Mogadishu and Governor of the Benadir Region.
Dr. Beileh serves in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) as the Minister of Finance.
