President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia reshuffled the top leadership of the Somali National Army (SNA).
A statement from Villa Somalia indicated that Gen. Abbas Amin would now be the Deputy Chief of the Army with immediate effect.
Similarly, Gen. Mohamed Tahliil takes over as the new Commander of the Infantry division of SNA.
Gen. Tahliil would be deputized by Col. Hussein Hosh, as part of the reshuffles carried out by the Office of the President on Saturday, October 24.
It was not immediately clear why President Farmaajo was carrying out the reshuffle, though.
However, he probably did it to enable the military to provide better security as the country prepares for elections from next month.
