President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo returned to Somalia on Monday at the conclusion of his two-day tour to Eritrea.
The plane carrying Farmaajo arrived back in Mogadishu on the afternoon of October 5.
Yemane Meskel, Somalia’s Minister of Information, confirmed that Farmaajo held productive discussions with President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea.
According to Meskel, the two leaders discussed issues aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
Farmaajo’s trip to Eritrea was the first time he was leaving the country to travel on an official visit since February 2020.
