President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo said that Fahad Yasin has resigned from his role as the Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Farmaajo made this announcement on Tuesday, September 7.
This contradicted an earlier statement from President Farmaajo in which he had directed Yasin to continue working as the NISA Director.
Earlier, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble had relieved Yasin of his duties.
A statement from the Presidential Palace (Villa Somalia) indicated that Farmaajo had accepted Yasin’s resignation.
