Farmaajo to Attend IGAD Summit in Djibouti

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) plans to attend the upcoming Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) summit in Djibouti.

Farmaajo is scheduled to depart Mogadishu for Djibouti on December 18.

During Friday’s session, IGAD is to discuss the ongoing diplomatic spat between Kenya and Somalia, which grew worse this week.

Earlier this week, Somalia sent a letter of protest to IGAD.

The letter listed several issues that Somalia has against Kenya.

In this week’s summit, IGAD is also expected to handle issues regarding the Ethiopia-Tigray skirmish.
