Farmaajo Warns Somalia Not to Cede Control of its Airspace to UAE

Former Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has warned of the potential dangers if Somalia were to allow the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to control its airspace.

He highlighted concerns over sovereignty, national security, and the risk of foreign influence over critical national infrastructure.

Ex-President Farmaajo emphasized that Somalia should maintain control over its airspace to protect its interests and avoid undue external influence that could undermine its territorial integrity and national policies.

Farmaajo’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions regarding the management and modernization of Somalia’s airspace, including concerns about foreign entities potentially exerting control over it.
