Farmaajo’s Electoral Adviser Claims He Was Barred from Contesting a Parliamentary Seat

A close ally of outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has sensationally claimed that authorities barred him from contesting a parliamentary seat.

Abdi Ali Rageh, who serves as President Farmaajo’s electoral adviser, made this claim on February 21.

In his address to the media, Rageh claimed that authorities denied him the chance to contest HOP#072, a federal House of the People seat.

The seat is in the regional state of Jubbaland.

Rageh pointed an accusing finger at the Jubbaland leadership, under President Ahmed Islam Madobe.

“The Jubbaland leadership looted my clan’s seat,” Rageh claimed.

He concluded that bogus elders then appointed the delegates that will elect the HOP#072 lawmaker in Tuesday’s elections in Kismayo.
