Abdullahi Fartag has vowed to eradicate Al-Shabaab terrorists from all parts of the country by April 2025.
Fartag made this vow while taking over his new office as the Minister of Internal Security.
He added that security forces are already aware of the target of April next year as the date for ensuring that Somalia is finally free of the presence of the terrorists.
For close to two years now, Somali military has undertaken operations in different parts of the country.
They have been working closely with international security partners.
African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) have been supporting Somalia National Armed Forces (SNAF) in these operations.
