On Saturday, employees working for Favori at Mogadishu airports went on strike to protest the company’s abuse of labor rights.
The strike on September 26 is the second one this year.
Mid this year, the same workers went on another strike to protest the same issues that they are unhappy with once again.
During the strike, the workers urged the firm to comply fully with Somalia’s labor laws.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Somali Trade Unions (FESTU) sent a few of its officials to the airport for a meeting with the workers’ representatives.
Upon their arrival, FESTU officials assured the airport workers of the organization’s support.
It also promised to continue organizing and representing the airport workers in their grievances against Favori.
