Muhumed Siyad Adan, the Vice President of Jubaland, has accused the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) of blocking a plane carrying medical aid to the region.
According to Adan, the plane was on its way to Kismayo, which is Jubaland’s administrative capital, when the government of President Mohamed Farmaajo blocked it from taking off.
Adan revealed this during a press conference in Kismayo.
Further, he promised that the Jubaland administration would issue a detailed statement soon on the measures taken by FGS at a time the country is grappling with the effects of COVID-19.
The measures include travel restrictions, which the government used to deny two Somali lawmakers the chance to fly to Kismayo for the funeral of a deceased Jubaland minister.
