Federal lawmakers have spoken out strongly against the violent and deadly clashes that broke out in Barawe this week.
The lawmakers elected to represent Southwest State in federal parliament issued their condemnation while addressing the media on Wednesday.
They accused Abdirahman Elmi Jimale of instigating the clashes.
Jimale is the Somali military commander in Barawe.
The clashes pitted the military against Southwest Dervishes. Initial reports indicate that at least 10 people lost their lives in the clashes.
