MOGADISHU, Somalia – A senior delegation from Somalia’s Federal Government, comprising Energy and Water Resources Minister Abdullahi Bidhaan Warsame and Internal Security State Minister Mohamed Ali Hagaa, conducted an inspection of polling facilities in Hodan district today.
The visit focused on evaluating voter card distribution advancement and expediting arrangements for the imminent local council elections in the Banadir region.
Upon their arrival, the ministers received a comprehensive briefing from Hodan’s District Commissioner, Mr. Ali Fahle. He presented an in-depth report on logistical procedures, emphasizing the seamless issuance of voter cards to registered individuals and the continuous awareness initiatives aimed at informing citizens about the pivotal “one person, one vote” electoral system.
Throughout the tour, Bidhaan and Hagaa personally examined the functions at multiple registration centers.
They praised the Hodan district authorities for their effectiveness and commitment in overseeing this crucial stage of the electoral process.
In a collective address to the community, the ministers appealed directly to Hodan residents. They emphasized the importance of all registered voters retrieving their cards without delay and fully engaging in this democratic chance to select their local officials, representing a notable advancement in Somalia’s nation-building endeavor.
