Federal lawmaker Mohamed Hassan Mohamed has raised concerns about the use of the titles “First” and “Second Deputy Prime Minister” in Somalia, labeling them unconstitutional.
He has called for the adoption of a single title, “Deputy Prime Minister,” to ensure consistency and alignment with constitutional principles.
This statement comes as Somalia currently has two Deputy Prime Ministers, Salah Ahmed Jama and Abdisalam Dhaay.
The lawmaker’s call seeks to eliminate confusion and emphasize equal standing between the two officials, urging media and individuals to avoid terms that imply a hierarchy not supported by the law.
