Dr. Ali Faqi, a member of Somalia’s 11th federal parliament, also known as the House of the People (Lower House) was re-elected as the Speaker of the Southwest State Parliament on Thursday.
He secured 81 votes in an election held in Baidoa city.
Following his re-election, Dr. Faqi has vacated his seat in the federal parliament to dedicate his efforts to his new role as Speaker of the Southwest State Parliament.
This transition underscores his commitment to serving at the regional level and contributing to the governance and development of the Southwest State of Somalia.
