FESOJ Condemns Arrest of a Renowned Beledweyne Journalist

The Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ) has condemned in the strongest terms possible the arrest of a renowned journalist in Beledweyne.

Abdulkadir Farah Dulyar, the renowned journalist, was arrested on January 6 in HirShabelle’s administrative capital of Beledweyne.

FESOJ released a statement claiming that Dulyar was arrested on the orders of the newly elected Vice President of HirShabelle State.

Apart from his achievements as a journalist, Dulyar is also one of the best-known human rights activists in the region.

He also serves as the Secretary General of the Human Rights Journalists in Somalia (HRJSomalia).

FESOJ has asked authorities in the region to release the renowned journalist and human rights advocate immediately.
