FESOJ Hails the UN for Agitating for Freedom of Speech in Somalia

The Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ) has commended the United Nations for playing a critical role in agitating for freedom of speech in the country.

FESOJ said this following a meeting held with Catriona Laing on Sunday.

FESOJ attended the meeting between Laing and the Somali Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Mogadishu. Laing was meeting with the CSOs for the first time.

She is the new Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia and the Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).

FESOJ expressed gratitude for having been part of the audience that met Amb. Laing.

On her part, Amb. Laing thanked the CSOs for the incredible role that they continue to play to advance development in the country.
