FESTU Urges Farmaajo and Roble to Cancel Favori’s Contract

The Federation of Somalia Trade Unions (FESTU) has urged President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to cancel Favori’s contract.

FESTU made this request on Thursday October 1.

Favori has been in the press in the last few days after a letter emerged showing it urging Somali security personnel to stand whenever they are near senior management.

FESTU said that Favori has little to no respect for the laws of the land. Further, it accused Favori of lacking respect for the human rights of Somalis.

Favori has been in the limelight for its conduct and abuse of workers’ rights.

FESTU mentioned that the firm, which won the contract to run international airports in the country, has escaped close supervision by the relevant government bodies for a long time.
