The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has condemned the unprovoked attack carried out at the Turkish military base in Mogadishu.
Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the Tuesday attack.
While condemning the attack, the government acknowledged that the Al-Qaeda linked group was behind it.
A government statement clarified that a suicide bomber detonated a bomb that blew him up and killed two people in the process while injuring another one.
Additionally, the government acknowledged the role played by Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers who ensured that there were no further fatalities or injuries.
The statement recognized that the officers manning the Turkish facility benefited from the training they have been receiving which enabled them to limit the number of casualties.
