A delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) visited military bases in the clash-ridden Gedo region on January 28.
The delegation comprised top cabinet ministers.
The Minister of Justice, Minister of Defense, and the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism all traveled to the region.
Gedo was the scene of deadly fighting and shootout on January 24 and 25.
Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers clashed with forces loyal to fugitive Abdirashid Janan. During the clashes, 11 people lost their lives.
Their visit to the region comes amid a worsening diplomatic spat between Somalia and Kenya.
