The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has launched a COVID-19 vaccination campaign for all government employees.
On August 21, the Ministry of Health made this announcement.
Further, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs joined hands with the health ministry to ensure that all government employees start receiving the vaccines.
The two ministries launched the campaign with the help of the National Civil Service Commission (NCSK).
Somalia has received hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 vaccines from the United Nations, United States, and other international partners.
This comes at a time when the East African country has been recording some high COVID-19 numbers.
