FIFA accreditation team arrived in Somalia on September 15 to inspect the ongoing renovation of the iconic Mogadishu Stadium.
The stadium, which is the largest in Somalia, has been undergoing renovation for several years now with funding provided by international partners.
Early this year, contractors upped the pace of the renovation works.
On Tuesday, an accreditation team from FIFA traveled to the East African nation to inspect the quality of the work.
Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU Delegation to Somalia, and the Federal Government of Somalia have renovated the stadium jointly.
With the renovation almost complete, the stadium is scheduled to hold its first official football match before the end of the month.
