FIFA Declares Mogadishu Stadium Fit for Hosting International Matches

FIFA declared the newly opened Mogadishu Stadium fit for hosting international matches as from October 16.

The global body gave the stadium the green light to host international matches a few months after the facility received a major overhaul.

With this news, Somalia’s National Football Team now has permission to host its matches at Mogadishu Stadium.

Previously, Somalia’s national team hosted its opponents in Djibouti.

Consequently, the stadium is scheduled to hold its first international match during the next FIFA week, which could be as early as November 2020.
