Fighting broke out in Wanlawayn between different government troops on Thursday, December 10.
Initial reports from the region indicate that four soldiers died in the heavy clashes.
Several injuries were reported as the soldiers fought out savagely. Civilian casualties were also reported.
Wanlawayn is roughly 90kms to the west of Mogadishu.
There is no confirmation or clear report how the deadly fighting started between Somali security forces broke out.
