Fighting erupted in Lower Shabelle on August 3 when Al-Shabaab militants attacked an African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) base.
The base belongs to the Ugandan soldiers serving in the region as part of the ATMIS force.
Eyewitnesses reported that Al-Shabaab terrorists attacked the base on Wednesday morning. The base is at Golweyn, Buulo-Mareer district, Lower Shabelle.
It is not clear whether the fighting left any casualties behind.
ATMIS is yet to comment on recent Al-Shabaab attacks against its forces in different parts of the East African nation.
