Dr. Abdirahman Beileh, the Minister of Finance in the Federal Government of Somalia, met with representatives from women and youth groups around the country on August 13.
During the Thursday meeting, the minister took the opportunity to brief the groups on the importance of taxes on domestic revenue generation.
He also discussed the critical role taxes play in the development of the groups that youths and women now belong to.
Additionally, Dr. Beileh offered the participants a brief outlook of the progress of economic reforms that the finance ministry has initiated.
He reminded the youth and women that they are “the backbone” on which Somalia’s growth and economy is anchored.
Dr. Beileh expressed his gratitude to the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) for sponsoring the workshop between the ministry, youths, and women of Somalia.
